Hi, I’m Mel, I live in Seattle and I am the person behind everything at Sunny Side Up. I’m a queer multi discipline artist and I predominantly work in fiber arts, photography, and mosaics. I’ve been weaving and making plant hangers for about 6 years, mosaicing the past 3 years and doing photography almost two decades. My craft is forever changing & evolving but at my core I strive to make art that is playful and full of joy.

My work is small batch and one of a kind; I use recycled material whenever I can and aim to keep as much out of the landfill as possible. My plant hangers are made using high grade cotton cord that has been recycled from the garment industry and all the chair frames I use are vintage/used.
